For anyone new to the liquor industry or returning to a job requiring RSA competency card after 5 years, you can attend one of our regularly face to face classes at Twin Towns Services Club in Tweed Heads.
Australian Consulting & Training Solutions Pty Ltd Trading as Zealifi (RTO No 31709) is approved by the Liquor and Gaming NSW to deliver this course via classroom delivery, it covers the Liquor and Gaming NSW specific state information as well as the nationally recognised unit of competency SITHFAB021 Provide Responsible Service of Alcohol.
Please note of you need to renew your NSW RSA competency this must be completed via the Liquor and Gaming NSW online program. Please check out our FAQ’s for further information.
Course time is 8am to 4.30pm (QLD time), class time includes completion of written and practical assessment. The program has been designed for entry level and intermediate experienced individuals.
There are no hidden fees, the price is $205 GST exempt is all you pay.
The NSW RSA course includes the recognised unit of competency SITHFAB021 Provide responsible service of alcohol plus the state specific information from Liquor and Gaming NSW. You will learn foundation skills in the course; foundation skills are essential skills that require you to perform certain work tasks and activities.
Reading Skills
Read at times complex information in:
- General, regulatory and advisory information issued by local, or state and territory liquor licensing authorities
- In-house policies and procedures
- Specific provisions of relevant state or territory legislation requirements.
Read a range of identification (ID) and proof of age documents, signage and warning signs and wording within in-house policies and procedures.
Oral Communication Skills
- Provide information on responsible service of alcohol laws in a way that is easily understandable for customers.
- Speak firmly and clearly with intoxicated customers in a manner that de-escalates conflict.
Numeracy Skills
- Calculate volume and number of standard drinks or samples.
- Determine customer’s age from date of birth on ID and proof of age documents.
Teamwork Skills
- Share customer information with team members to ensure proper responsible service of alcohol practices within the organisation.
Self-management Skills
- Deal with hostile or uncooperative customers in a professional manner and in line with organisation procedures.

All assessments are completed in class which includes a combination of multiple choice and short answer questions as well as assessed practical performances of simulated workplace situations, scenarios, and verbal questioning.
Zealifi will determine the support needs of our learners by asking our learners to complete a language, literacy, and numeracy support indicator, which is available upon request. This is completed prior to training and assessment to assess the learner’s suitability for their desired course and to identify if additional support may be required. Zealifi wants to ensure we can provide an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
Your trainer is available to assist you during the course, as long as this doesn’t impact on others’ learning experience. You will receive two forms of recognition from our NSW RSA course:
No 1. NSW Liquor and Gaming Interim certificate which is produced by Liquor and Gaming NSW. This your credential for gaining your competency card.
No 2. Nationally Recognised Statement of Attainment* for SITHFAB021 Provide Responsible Service of Alcohol is issued by Australian Consulting & Training Solutions Pty Ltd Trading as Zealifi (RTO No 31709). This enables you to work nationally in the Liquor industry depending on each state or territory specific liquor licensing requirement. This will be emailed to you. If you wish to obtain a paper copy of your statement of attainment there will be an additional charge of $15.00.
Statements of attainment do not expire, however, depending on the state or territory that you wish to work in. You may be required to refresh your knowledge or obtain a new statement of attainment after a set time period. It would be suggested to check the state or territory liquor licensing website that you intend to work in to find out the specific requirements that apply to you.
You will need to bring with you photo identification, your Unique Student Identifier (USI), your own pen and notepad.

We will provide you with a detailed workbook for both the national competency and the NSW state specific information. You will also have access to our online portal for additional support information and resources to read that could engage you for over 4 hours.
RSA Online Course is nationally recognised unit of competency SITHFAB021 – Provide Responsible Service of Alcohol and is delivered by Australian Consulting & Training Solutions Pty Ltd Trading as Zealifi (RTO No 31709). The course delivery is a blended approach – 80% online and 20% phone recording for verbal assessment.
Duration may take up to six hours to complete online depending on experience and previously acquired understanding. This program includes detailed learning content and comprehensive assessment on all states and territories. The course is valid in QLD, ACT, WA and NT.
You will be given access to your course for a period of 90 days (3 months) from your enrolment date, if you need an extension after this time to complete your course please call us on 1300 122 287 to arrange this.

This will be emailed to you within 5 business days. If you wish to obtain a paper copy of your statement of attainment there will be an additional charge of $15.00.
*Please note the Northern Territory Government requires re completion of the full RSA course every three (3) years.
