Who needs the NSW RCG course?
Anyone who work with gaming machines in NSW.
- Licensees with a full hotel licence
- Secretaries of a registered club
- Directors of registered clubs with gaming machines, unless they have completed Responsible Gambling Board Oversight training (from 30 June 2025)
- Directors of companies that own hotels with gaming machines, who are involved in the operations of hotels (from 30 June 2025)
- Staff with gaming machine duties
- Staff who pay out winnings
- Staff who patrol or serve in a gaming machine area
- Responsible Gambling Officers (RGOs)
- Any person planning to enrol in Advanced Responsible Conduct of Gambling (ARCG) training

- Full-day classroom course, 8.00am – 3.30pm (QLD time)
- Printed NSW RCG workbook provided at the start of class
- Course completion lodged with L&GNSW portal within 3 business days; you will receive an email with the link to the L&GNSW RCG online knowledge test.
- You will need to complete and pass the mandatory L&GNSW RCG online knowledge test, your RCG interim certificate will generate upon successful completion.

How do I get my RCG competency card?
After the course, Zealifi lodges your completion with L&GNSW within 3 business days. They email you a link to a short-online knowledge test. On passing, your interim certificate will be generated, and it is valid for 90 days and lets you work immediately. Take it to Service NSW for your photo competency card, valid five years.
Does this course include the national RSG unit?
The classroom course covers the Liquor & Gaming NSW state content. If you also want the nationally recognised SITHGAM022 Statement of Attainment, add the Online RSG course.
Can I renew my NSW RCG here?
No. NSW competency card renewals must be completed through the Liquor & Gaming NSW online refresher program. This course is for new cards or cards expired more than five years.
What should I bring?
One form of current photo ID (driver licence, 18+ card, proof of identity card or passport), plus a pen and paper for notes.
Is Zealifi approved to run this course?
Yes. Australian Consulting & Training Solutions Pty Ltd T/A Zealifi (RTO 31709) is approved by Liquor & Gaming NSW to deliver this course in the classroom.
How long does the course run?
Full-day attendance is legislated by L&GNSW, so plan to be there from start to finish.
